Children entering FS2 are admitted in small groups over the course of the first week back at school. This allows staff to support any children who are finding the process more challenging. Although there are two FS2 classes, they work in a shared space and are able to mix. There are a range of areas within the space that the children are able to access independently. These include: reading, writing, role-play, maths, investigation, construction, small world, painting, model and music making as well as sand and water play. Enhancements are planned as appropriate.
Once your child has learned the first set of letter sounds they will bring home a reading book and information about how you can support them.
